Nycci Jones is the director of learning and diversity for Nelnet. In that role, Jones is responsible for leading diversity, equity, and inclusion to advance the organization’s cultural competence. She also leads Nelnet’s talent management and organizational development strategy.

Under her leadership, Nelnet has been recognized by Forbes for the Best Diversity Workplace for the past two years as well as winning the Lincoln Young Professional Award Diversity and Inclusive Workplace Award. In addition, Jones’s efforts have achieved: an ATD BEST Award, an ATD Excellence in Practice Award, and the 2022 Unsung Hero Award. Jones also serves on the Aurora Chamber of Commerce as a board member.

Building on more than 27 years of experience in the L&D community, Jones’s expertise spans across a wide range of DEI programming and initiatives as well as talent management and organization development. As a champion for diversity at all levels, Jones focuses on creating a safe, equitable work environment that promotes trust, fairness, and transparency.

She holds a Cornell University certification in diversity and inclusion, Master Trainer designation, instructional design certification, and a coaching certification through the ATD.
